Terms and Conditions

  1. Name of promotion. Shyft Refer a Friend Campaign

  2. Promoter. The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (Standard Bank/We/Us/Our)

  3. Start date. 00h00 on 1 February 2024

  4. End date. 23h59 on 31 March 2025

  5. What we are offering (Offer). R100 wallet top-up for any Shyft customer that successfully refers a friend to Shyft and a R100 wallet top-up for the successfully referred friend based on their first successful transaction on Shyft only.

  6. Who qualifies for the Offer you must be. A.) a permanent resident of South Africa; B.) at least 18 years old; and C.) a Shyft customer.

  7. Who does not qualify for the Offer. Shyft Staff Members, including all Shyft Operations Staff and Third Parties contracted to provide a service to Shyft, and immediate family members of such persons may not participate in the offer.

  8. How to accept the Offer. To accept the offer, you must be registered as a customer on the Shyft App. You will need to follow the on-screen instructions on the app to refer friends, family members or colleagues (friends). You may refer as many friends as you like subject to a maximum of 100 successful referrals. Once you make a referral, you become a “Referrer” and will be provided with a unique referral link (“Personal Link”) which can be shared with friends. Referred friends must successfully complete the referral as described in the referral message. To successfully complete the referral, the friend must be successfully onboarded onto Shyft, top up their wallet and either buy their first share or make their first international payment.

  9. How many times you can accept the Offer. You (the referrer) can refer as many people as you like, however this is limited to 100 successful referrals and is capped at a maximum reward value of R10 000.

  10. How you will receive the Offer. By successfully completing a referral as defined in clause 8 above, you will receive R100 in your ZAR Shyft wallet and your friend will receive R100 (friend reward) in their ZAR Shyft wallet, within 48 business hours. Rewards are subject to verification. Shyft may delay a reward for the purposes of investigation. Shyft may also refuse to process any transaction for reasons defined in the Shyft App T&Cs.

  11. Other terms. Your referral reward is only applied to your Shyft ZAR wallet. Only once the friend being referred has been successfully onboarded onto Shyft, topped up their wallet and successfully completed the required transaction, as per the Shyft terms and conditions, will the “referrer” and “referred friends” be eligible for the reward. The reward can be used however you may choose.Referrers cannot refer themselves or create multiple, fictitious, or fake accounts with Shyft or participate in the offer as “Friends”.


    1. Please read the Terms carefully and pay special attention to the clauses that are in bold, as they may limit our liability (responsibility) or involve some risk to you.

    2. We are the promoter of the Offer. Any reference to we/us/our includes our directors, sponsors, agents or consultants, where the context allows for it.

    3. By participating in the Offer, you agree to be bound by:

      1. these Terms;

      2. the terms and conditions of any of our products or services that you sign up for as part of the Offer; and

      3. any supplier terms and conditions (if applicable).

    4. These Terms apply to the Offer and to all information (including promotional or advertising material that is published) in relation to the Offer.

    5. We are not responsible for any loss or damage which you or any third party may suffer as a result of you taking up the Offer.

    6. We are not responsible if you are not able to successfully take up the Offer for any reason, including because of an interruption in services or a technological failure.

    7. We reserve the right to amend these Terms.

    8. We can end the Offer with immediate effect with or without notice to you. If this happens, you waive (give up) any rights, which you may have against us and you will have no claim against us.

    9. If there is a dispute in respect of these Terms or the Offer, our decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

    10. The Offer cannot be used together with any other similar offer or campaign promoted by us.
